Evan Chen

Hi! I'm Evan.

I love trying new things and learning.

I'm currently working on a new startup based in NYC, more to be announced soon.

I was previously an Associate at Kindred Ventures, an early stage venture capital fund investing across various sectors. My sector coverage included crypto/web3, AI infrastructure and applications, energy generation and physical infrastructure, fintech, developer tools, climate tech, and consumer hardware, with exposure to digital health, semiconductors, space tech, defense tech, and brain-computer interfaces.

I graduated from the University of Michigan, studying business, computer science, and Chinese. I have experience working at the intersection of finance and technology, both functionally as well as supporting products and customers in both industries.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling (24 countries and counting), hiking, photography, ultimate frisbee, table tennis, and chess. I've also been getting into writing, graphic design, and algorithmic trading.

I aspire to get more involved in advising and investing in founders. I'm currently a mentor at Techstars, and actively invest in startups and crypto.

My career goal is to work at the intersection of finance, technology, and design by helping great founders build great companies.
